How do I add news block to homepage?

I am using xoops 2.5.0, and I'm trying to add a News block to the front page of my site.

I installed the News module.

Now I go to the admins panel, Blocks, and click Add Block. All that lets me do is add a custom html block, I can't see at all how to add a News block.

for me when i use the blocks administration page, for the drop downs i select are modules: news, page: all types, groups: all types,visible: all types. then i change the one i want.

Oh... I sort of see what you mean. I was confused because I wanted to add blocks which were not currently being displayed so I clicked "Add Block", which.. is not how you add blocks that way...

I see how it works now I guess.

I'm still not used to the way then changed the blocks administration.

Ok, I put "Recent News" in the right column and now it shows links to recent news. But, I also want to show the actual news articles on the front page (like, let's say the latest 3 news items) not just the links to them but the actual news story with the content, in the center column. But I don't see any block that does that?

The 'Recent News' blocks with a teaser length should do it.
