Pop-up for new PM's and question about replacement PM module

I have a couple of questions related to the PM module:

1. Does anyone have a suggestion on a smooth way to add a pop-up on login to indicate the user has a new PM?

2. Is there a replacement PM module out there that let's the user send PM's to multiple users?

i suggest you that use the usuarios module from esxoops.com it notify you if you have a messagem

Having a hard time with the Spanish. Could you please provide me with the link?

Also, regarding the pop-up, I was thinking more along the lines of a hack, if someone had any hints as to how to do it in the best way.

This module is the one that make the left block on esxoops.com.

It show the connected users, who is online (with geolocation), and the last ones registered.

Some themes as Zetagenesis etc, have an indication for the PM's in a separate user block (not in the user menu). You can combine then this code with the HTML code from the 'More ...' link of the online user block to generate the popup.

What about sending messages to multiple users? Any suggestions for that?
