I've download the SimpleRed theme from xoopsland. I've decompressed (.zip) and zipped again in .tar.gz format.

When i try to upload the teme to my 2.4.4 XOOPS, i cannot:

ERROR: Template file not found

And if i try to upload thru FTP to the /themes folder, the themes manager on the administration menu, cannot found the theme

What i'm missing?

Steve,

Have you tried unzipping it on your server with your ftp app, and if so, what's the file structure?

Repacking to .tar.gz is for templates, but not for themes!

Humm, seems the zip file has not a good file structure.
Proceed as follows:
- Unpack the zip file on your local PC in a temporary directory.
- Create a directory on the server in the themes directory eg simplered (or anything you want).
- Upload all files (with FTP) from the temporary directory to /themes/simplered/
Watch for proper alignment: you have to have /themes/simplered/theme.html
- Then select the theme in the general preferences or from the theme selection block (activated in admin blocks).
