What about creating site suggested setup documents for specific categories (K-12 School, intranet, e commerce, artistic portfolio, internet radio, social sites, etc). Experienced users could describe in detail what modules are used in their site.

Details on modules, configurations, hacks, even specifics like recommended layout could be incorporated. By linking to the latest module downloads and configuration instructions (form posts, reference tutorials, etc) it would be less of a chore then repackaging modules each time a new version of any module in a pack is released.

An added bonus is the possibility of reusing excerpts of the documentation elsewhere in XOOPS.

Great idea! I like it!

Could you help with creating one them as a reference point for the others?

I would be cool someone to make module that, depending on what answer you select, it gives you a clue what to download.

Eg. Question: Your website is a blog or news portal?
- Yes [adding eg. news module or gives you selection]

Next question: Do you want image gallery?
- No

Third: Do you need e commerce module?
- Yes [pack oledrion]

etc..

I think that I was clear enough considering my Tarzan english

xNews could import from orig. news module and it could be cloned to have exactly the same module name eg. news, and the path should be modules/news. So it's no one's loss :)

BTW. Any news about xNews module? :)
