Can't login to admin account.

I got through the installation process "step 1" and then it asks me to login to the admin account. I put in the username and pass, but it says "object not found" and it is pointing tohttp://localhost/xoop/user.php

I look in the xoop dir and there is no user.php file located in there.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Is that path correct? Shouldn't it be /xoops/user.php?

Your xoops_root folder should have user.php

On my xampp installation the files are in:

c:\xampp\htdocs\site-folder

so I get to the site via:

http://localhost/site-folder/

Is your file structure correct?

John,
I named it xoop. so I go to localhost/xoop. So my install files are:
C:\xampp\htdocs\xoop

I can get thru the install, but not past the login page.

My suggestion is to place user.php there! Obviously there are missing files on your installation.

In that case it sounds like some files are missing; there should definitely be user.php in your /htdocs/xoop/ folder.

You should have a structure like:

/htdocs/xoop/cache/
/htdocs/xoop/class/

etc, through to

/htdocs/xoop/uploads/
/htdocs/xoop/admin.php
/htdocs/xoop/backend.php
/htdocs/xoop/banners.php

etc, through to

/htdocs/xoop/xmlrpc.php
/htdocs/xoop/xoops.css
