Captcha in Liaise will not show up

I am using XOOPS 2.0.16 and Liaise 1.27 (with Captcha included). Other users have done this before me with great success, as I can see. But I have one problem: The Captcha Image will not display on the form page. I installed the module straight from the box.
Anyone out there with suggestions?

Hi, I have the same problem:

1) I downloaded and installed Liaise 1.27 (this hack is indeed a great improvement of the Liaise module!) on my XOOPS 2.0.16 version
2) there are no error messages if I switch on the pphp debug mode
3) everything works fine, except for the captcha image: it does not show up. It looks like an image on a webpage that cannot be downloaded. Liaise can still be used without the Captcha by switching spam protection off.

Anybody?

you can download a version from xoops-magazine. this ist liase 1.26 with captcha.
download only for member here.

Just to let you know that the new table 'liaise_scode' is missing in xoops_version.php:

Thanks for your suggestion.

Your version shows at least an image... but it is a grey square without content

Any idea what the problem could be??

The best contact module is certainly, and you will agree on that, Liaise in version 1.26 for XOOPS 2.0.x (Thanks: brandycoke.com).

Being enabled for guests, this module is vulnerable to spam. This can be quite annoying for the admin, because it gets literally bombed by spam.

But now there is a solution: XOOPS user @mclaines (also known for his galery module) took the captcha image of xcgal and included it in Liaise. Thank you very much!

To run this version of Liaise you have to have GD Library and Freetype enabled on your webpace, which will be in most of the cases.

To update the module, unzip the files and overwrite them on your webspace. Run upgrade2.php from your admin interface (.../liaise/admin/upgrade2.php).
(There is no upgrade needed when the module is installed for the first time.)

But what about those of us who dont want to install an unofficial version of liaise 1.26?

As with any module, if you install an unofficial version you may not be able to update to future official versions.

I am not the developer of this module. As long as that lives XOOPS-magazines, you can seize on the Download back. I transferred the module also to the German Community (Download-Center).

Hello.
I use Liaisa 1.26 at XOOPS 2.0.16. Just like you i wanna add captcha feature so i download Liaisa 1.27.

Can i upgrade my 1.26 to 1.27 version or i have to install it from the beginning?

and second at the download page of Liaisa 1.27 says that you need GD extension but where exactly can i find it?

i click the link down of it but it goes to a php page (?)

is there a read me file how to do that?
