I currently have http://www.SoulScribe.com running on Xoops.

I am in the process of completely redesigning the site, and will have graphic designers in addition to XOOPS developers (if I can).

I want this site to essentially have the functionality of this website: http://www.writerscafe.org

I want users to have their own profile pages just like writers cafe, with bios, comments, friends, etc.

, I want subscriptions to their favorite authors to show up as feeds, I want lists of the comments that have been made on their submitted stories.

And, I definitely want a top navigation that has a user menu for logged on users.

Can this all be done? or should I just make something proprietary?

Thanks,

Paul

As far as I know, getting all those things to happen in XOOPS would require so much hacking that you'd end up with something that was effectively proprietary in the end.

That doesn't mean XOOPS isn't a good base for it though. It would certain be my starting point for such a project. The core classes are a good framework to use.

It doesn't require hacking of XOOPS, just some well designed modules.

You need a good programmer with a lot of time.
