Hello

I use XOOPS 2.0.15 and CBB 3.0.6 (recently upgraded).
work fine but I (and my users) still have some questions regarding the ranking in the Forum.

The value for EXP is clear , but value for HP and MP are more difficult to understand ...

For the Karma, I have habit with SMF forum. But it seems different, as here users can't raise up/down the karma of others ... I have read in a very old message from phppp, that the karma was calculated as "count post * 50" !!!
Still like that ?

Is someone can explain me clearly how all this values are calculated ?
btw: Where can I found a "recent" & "complete" documentation for CBB ? The FAQ on xoopsforge.com is far than complete.

(I already search in the forum and on several site ... I don't find a clear answer.)

Thanks for your help

Thank David

This is what I am looking for ... Not completely clear but I must re-read it again.

I don't understand why I don't find it myself !!
May be a wrong choice of keywords ...

David

Explaination are nice, but it's hard to undertand with real case ...
Especially for HP and MP .
I join(create) the forum 29/9 (29th September 2006) and I have 37 posts:

HP show 38/96 and MP show 12/13 ...

Can you (or someone else) demonstrate how it's work ?
I don't see relations between numbers

again thanks for your help ...

Re: CBB and ranking system (HP/MP/EXP/karma)

One of my members posted the following explanation(s) to our FAQ and I just had to share it.
---------------------------------------------
Q. I have read the answer about HP, MP and EXP but dont fully understand it. HELP please.

A. Ah grasshopper to understand the true meaning of these lines is the answer to life itself .

The Hypeparametricporambulatorysick Parameter is a measure of skill in punctuation, stating the bleeding obvious and the temperature of a compost heap on a sunny day in June (doh 2 months behind again!)
The metapysicaltoroidalsteapadiktomeroflmao Parameter, contaversially, is a measure of the likleyhood of winning the national lottery and the declination of libido in a cold shower.
The EXP function is however self explanatory. Shake it and it goes bang.
Level is how far you have to fall if your intertia rell safetyline is not fastened (available at a discounted price from the management.
And you think you need help!
-------------------------------------------
Works for me, lmao.

They also posted a real explanation.
--------------------------------------------

Q. What does HP, MP and EXP mean?

A. You want the long answer or short answer? Here is the shortish answer:

The further across your HP bar is the more often you log on and say something. If you log on twice a day and only do 1 post, The bar would be only half as far across if you logged on once a day and did 1 post.

The further across your MP bar is, the more often you post on a daily basis.i.e. posts per day rather than posts per login

When EXP get to 100 you Explode!, but in compensation for being blown up you get to the next level. I think I'm about to explode.
---------------------------------------------
Karma?
---------------------------------------------

Q. My Karma is 50 but there are still posts I cant read.

A. Ah Grasshopper. You dont post enough thoughtful and reasoned posts. As you join in this forum and make a contribution, your Karma will increase in leaps and bounds and then you too will be able to decide what Karma is applicable to those reading your post.

You get out what you put in.
-------------------------------------------
Thanks to Goldie, lol

Hang on there is more
-------------------------------------------

Q. Tell me more about HP and MP

A. As a result of extensive research which involved many adventures, (wait for the book, "Goldie does Dallas")
I have at last come up with the definitive definitions of HP and MP.
HP is the number of posts you have made less your dress size divided by the number of posts you have made plus what your age will be when the next ice age comes.
MP is your number of post divided by the number of witches in Macbeth's opening scene divided by the number of posts you have made less your waist measurements in inches if it is a Tuesday and cm if it is a Thursday. (other days take your pick).
This works for me and gives me a really accurate length of the orange and green bars.

I think the true answer is the more you post with feeling or accuracy, the longer both bars will become in due course.
Being transgender is NOT a choice.
