I've been searching for a petition module but can't seem to find one. But I wouldn't be surprised to learn it's available, somewhere out there...

I need it to be able to collect name, address, email and possible comments, and also to log the IP of the submitter.

It would be very nice if it was able to send out confirmation emails to verify the petition.

Additionally it would be very nice if it was able to show some statistics on the petition, and perhaps a list of names of the people who has already entered the petition - perhaps separated into groups of 100 names?

If it's not available for Xoops, please suggest alternatives as I need it relatively fast.
Best regards,
Daigoro

Sorry, no real petition modules as far as i know.

You could use some of the form modules to create something but i will not have all those verification features or statistical stuff so would be no real replacement.

Someone correct me if anyone has spotted such a module somewhere.
Sorry, this signature is experiencing technical difficulties. We will return you to the sheduled signature as soon as possible ...

Thanks Bender and marcionline.

Another person just PM'ed me, and told about the ePetition module - but I must admit the site has me confused, and I'm very much uncertain about the module. And it's not available for download.
I've tried to contact the author, and hope to learn more from him.

But I'm still searching for other options.
Best regards,
Daigoro

at this time, it is not completely finished, still some options to be added.
in a few weeks, I will propose a beta version.

Hi DuGris,

Sounds great. I'm looking forward to it.

But I'm afraide it's too late for the task I have now, so I'll probably have to make something myself. - And then not have any fancy features.
Best regards,
Daigoro

You might be able to hack the 'EvenNews' newsletter subscription module?. It requires subscriptions to be confirmed. Only has fields for real name, nicname and email address though.

I had it on a site for a while and it did get spammed from time to time, but that simply resulted in undeliverable mail alerts.

Needs bringing up to date really, ideally with a 'captcha'. It's the only newsletter subscription module for XOOPS AFAIK.

Thanks Peekay,

I quickly checked 'EvenNews' in the Repository and on the development-site. It does definitely need a bit of work, as it has outstanding bugs from 2004.
I'll look closer at the code when I'm back home, to see if I can hack it into what I need.

If you just want to collect names and comments, you could try the (slightly weird) 'BM-Survey' - the module formally known as 'Multi-Survey'.

You can get it from the downloads section on this site

Installs and works for me in 2.0.13.2. No validation of submissions though that I can see.
