Installation Says Upload Files in HTML Directory, but...

...when I unzipped the 2.0.14 archive, there was not html directory. Is it the contents of the htdocs directory I am supposed to upload and do I just upload the entire directory?

Getting a bit confused here.

It changed from the name html to htdocs in release 2.0.14 and the docs did not reflect that change.

Bottomline: you upload all files and folders that are within the htdocs folder into your website rootdirectory.
(if we are talking about a fresh install! If it is an update take care to not overwrite mainfile.php and follow the instructions in the package)

One other thing I don't understand is the release numbers. I'm seeing themes and other references to 2.2.x of Xoops, yet the downloads are 2.0.xx. What is the 2.2 referring to?

Use the search or just go some pages back in forum listings for the XOOPS 2.0.x vs. 2.2.x stuff.

Gotcha. What really confused me is that my hosting provider can do an automatic install and they said they were installing 2.2.4. I decided to do the install myself so maybe I can begin to understand this thing. It is quite a paradigm shift to go from html base to php.

OK, I follow that much, but.....

We left the /html/ dir structure in place when we set up our XOOPS server. There is a redirect in our Apache2 config such that...

RedirectMatch ^/$ /html/index.php


Anyway, so in keeping with "our standard" I suppose we should migrate to /htdocs/ vs /html/ and thus tried that. Changed the Apache config, renamed the dir, bounce Apache, and bang!

XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run.


OK, how many MORE places do we need to change /html/ to /htdocs/?
