Another update: I thought it was just the zenTrack module, but the cool looking sysinfo module presents me with a polar bear in a snowstorm as well. Yes, I've read the FAQ... any other ideas?

G'Day!

I've just installed xoops, (works beautifully, nice job guys!) and then tried to install the tasty-looking zenTrack helpdesk module.

Copied files up OK, installed the module under xoops' module management ok, but when I try to reach the zenTrack pages all I get is a blank screen.

I know I'm missing something stupid and trivial that anybody with more than 5 minutes experience is going to laugh at, but in my defence there's nothing I can see in the supplied documentation that will help me.

Any ideas? TIA!

Update: I'm learning :)

I turned debug mode on; upon trying to hit zentrack's index this is what I get:

Quote:

XOOPS took 0.123 seconds to load.
XOOPS Boot took 0.037 seconds to load.

That shed any light anywhere?

Re: Module not working: blank screen only?

G'day back at ya

PHP 'notices' don't cause errors...warnings and errors do however shed some light on a problem.

here is your next step...read the 'read b4u post thread below and copy and paste the list of info here - with answers - as that may clue someone in on how to help you.

I love that metaphor!

PPS: Try not to start new threads on a problem - use your 'view account' on user menu to find your post and post your update - that will bring it back to the top of the list.

Mate, thanks for the response!

I was busily gathering the required info and browsing every other page on the site (well, maybe not all of them, but still plenty...) when I came to the sudden, sullen realisation that I'm Porbably Not Going To Get What I Want.

I'm trying to setup on a freshly-minted Ubuntu-server-6.06 box, and the lovely LAMP stack that it installs uses php5 - which a good number of folks around here have said is no good :( Which would explain the trouble I'm seeing - XOOPS itself only gives me the left hand menu, with no content further to the right; and modules just don't work.

Xoops is a lovely package - used it before - but I sadly don't have the time to devote to making everything work :(

But thankyou regardless. I will continue plugging away at it in any idle moments I may have (because I HATE it when I can't make somethig work), but I suspect I'll have to find a plan B.
