If you cant get your previous admin account working try to create a new one.
1. register a new user (as every other user from frontside)
2. Use phpAdmin to get into the table
xoops___groups_users_link and find the line with the link for the userid of the one you just created.
Usually this should be the last one. If you want to verify the userid go into the users profile after logging in and you can see it in the url.
3. Edit those settings from:
[b] linkid groupid uid[/b]
linkid 2 uid
to:
linkid 1 uid
4. Logon with that user.
If it works remember to edit that user and add him to the "registered users" group again.
