Hi!

I'm total n00b in XOOPS so I need your help!

I installed XOOPS on my server...the installation was easy. But now I can't figure it out how to change template. I downloaded a template from http://www.templatesbox.com/templates.htm but I can't use it. I tried from administrators interface but still can't do it. I noticed that in my downloaded template there is a pdf file. If I change that file in photoshop, how can I use it in my XOOPS page?

Thanks,
Tilen

Re: problems with templates

Hi Tilen
I am not sure that standard templates are of any use to your XOOPS website at all - you need 'themes' which use templates...when you are ready you will be able to learn to build your own theme (not something I have learned to do)

I suggest you take a look at the thread on help docs below - in particular look for installing themes, anatomy of a theme etc.

Do a search of our 'themes library' and if you search the 'themes' and website review threads you will find lots of people who make themes also often have several available to users.
As a newbie I recomend you use a currenlty available theme you like, then spend some time learning about how they are made and make one you like from scratch or 'clone' the one you picked and change it to suit yourself.

Hope this helps with your understanding of how XOOPS works - get the docs and read them - you won't regret taking the time.

Cheers
