How to make batch uploading to Image manager?

I have many images for using on my sites and don´t know how to make batch uploading to Image manager.

Is there any possibility to make this?

How about using an ftp program

First you should probably do as Biteronboard says and get familiar with FTP.

The read this FAQ thats what it is for.

- go to admin, system adimin and click on images.
Create an image category (or more than one if you wish) and use this to upload the images you want to use.

To Batch add you can them by ftp'ing the images to the folders...

Use FAQ and Search - amazing how much time you save - no need to wait for many answers.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that just FTPing a batch of images will not make them viewable in the Image Manager. Uploading them just adds images to a folder, it does not tell the database that the images are there to display.

I could be wrong...

Jensclas, I don't believe the FAQ that you are referring to discusses batch uploads.

Well! Before posting this question on the forum, I did search on google and on this website about batch image upload, but I dint find any answer.
It was like everyone know it and therefor no need to say anything about it.

I try to follow your instructions step Jenclas, but how can I " ftp'ing the images to the folders. " ?
I mean sure, I can use ftp clients to upload all my images, but where to upload it? And will the image manager be able to detect those images and put them in the list so my users can select them?
How about avatars? Can I upload them in batch?

Here's the FAQ on uploading multiple Avatars.

Boy this would be so usefull! Has anyone accomplished how to do it yet?

Also it would be better if folders were created in the uploads directory of the created category.

Maybe I can use one of the newer editor modules instead.
