I would like to have a special block where I would enter email of the recepient and email would be send, containg short description and a link to XOOPS side....

Does anything like that already exist?

I'm not sure what version of XOOPS you are running but at present I am using V2.2.4. There is a Site Info block which is part of the blocks administration which may be what you are looking for. You can modify the template to match your site or theme.

Hmmmm. I can't recall if that version had the site info block available in blocks administration or not.

Go to your administration, blocks, and see if it is available for adding (add blocks) to your current active blocks. If it is add it and set it for visible and the page to be visible on, then check it out. The name Site Info is a little mis-leading. It is actually a Recommend Us type block which allows not only YOU but your users to send an email to their friends Recommending your Site with a link to it as well.

There is a site info module in the repository. It says it gives us details about XOOPS portal. Is that the same?

I can't remember what it said. Add it and give it a try...
If it isn't just delete it from your active blocks.
I am pretty sure it is the same thing I was talking about.

Ooops! No not the module. That wasn't what I meant. Sorry-I din't pay attention to your question well enough. Did you look in your Administration, System, Blocks, add block(s) ????
