Hi All.

I have recently deleted my old BB and have decided to re-install the NewBB 2.0 module.

The problem i have is that when I try to install the module from the admin page, there are 2 forum icons abailable to install (identical). I then try to install either of them and get the following error:

Installing NewBB 2.0

Table 'xoops_bb_categories' already exists

Unable to install newbb. Error(s):

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall.

Please help!

Thank you.

Open your database in phpmyadmin, drop any xoops_bb_ tables you find, then reinstall the module. I would suggest using CBB 1.16 for a new XOOPS 2.0x install, newbb 2 is pretty old and no longer developed.

Thanks JD.

I have dropped the tables and unstalled NewBB.

I then attempted to install CBB1.16 (transferred successfully), but when I go to module screen I get 'module file not found'.

Any ideas?

Check your FTP program, make sure it is uploading in binary mode not ASCII, if the latter the server will not be able to read the PHP or image files as they will be corrupted.

Yes, I have checked the data transfer (binary) and have uloaded other modules recently without a problem.

In the module screen, it stll says 'module not found' with a red-cross image.

When i click on 'install' anyway, it then says

Unable to install . Error(s):
Module already exists.

Keep those suggestions coming :)

Re: Problem Installing/Using NewBB

Go back to the database in phpmyadmin, check for any other xoops_bb_ tables, drop if there.

Next go to the xoops_modules table, browse it. If you see an entry there for newbb delete it and try again.
