The multi site module probably wont work with the XOOPS version you want it too, but you could try if you find it.

I'll have a look in my archives for you.

Xoops has intergraded LDAP for authentification which allows you to share userbase. But for a begginner its bloody #OOPS# complicated to get one set up.

I don't know why the XOOPS team, didn't also intergrate the multi site module in addition to the LDAP, at least it would of made it easier for the less experianced of users.
Kind Regards.

Multisite integration is apparently going to happen in a later release.

Hey David,

This is another one of those promised things which still havent happened yet.

It's great that LDAP support was added, but not all of XOOPS users have the knowledge nor understanding to create an LDAP server, plus most of them are more than likely on shared hosting which would not allow the access required in order set up LDAP.

Is there any ETA on the release of an easy intergrated multi site for xoops, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years?
Kind Regards.

albahrain,

Sorry mate, it seems I don't have the module any more, I looked at various places on the net and cant find it either, it also appear that bodgie the original developer has now closed his web sites down, not sure when that happened, as I used to be a member over there.

All I can say is see if any other of the members have the multi site module.

Sorry mate
Kind Regards.

The module you asked is available for download on this thread. Read properly all the instruction given.

ps: the module probably doesn't work with the version you want. it's only work with x00ps 2.2.3final.

h4ppy x00ps1ng!

I don't understand your argument.
Do you always need to install MySQL yourself when you want to use it ?

bye,
Hervé

Hi Hervé,

I think the point is MySQL comes as standard with most shared hosting packages, but as LDAP is normally used for network authorisation, it's not very likely that a shared hosting company would install it for you. One would need a dedicated server and install it yourself.
