many people dont upload avatar because they are not able to fit the requirements of pixel size.

Instead it could be like that:

max kb size

user upload image, system resize it with normal size (the avatar) and small size (to be placed along every comment and message on the system)

I would also like to see the ability for users to upload avatars of any size and have them automatically resized. My users aren't all tech-savvy enough (or patient enough) to resize photos, yet photos are critical to the function of my site.

Has anyone found a way to do this? Thanks!

2.2 does have any size avatar, yet not the ability to automatically resize them, so i will look into it at some point......it shouldn’t be that hard……

No, it would just be a matter of utilizing GD to automagically resize the supplied photos.

Although, you would still need to define the sizes that are optimal for your design.

Sounds core worthy to me.

Wasn't there a module that did this, or am I off in another CMS again?
