More than one module on start page?

I'm having a little trouble right now. I have weblog for my start page, but I was wanting to put the News there too. Not recent news topics, but the actual most recent news article. So I would have the recent News, then below it the recent Blogs.

Is there some way to do this?

Instead of using two modules you can use two blocks. Both the weblog and news module has blocks who can show the recent news/logs.

The problem with this is that I want them to show the actual news or blog, not just the titles. Do you see what I mean?

You need a different module. Like Spotlight, for example.

Spotlight is nice, but still not what I want to do.

I want the weblogs module on the front page, but with some static text at the top of the page. Maybe there's some way to just add that I'm not thinking of.

Any ideas?

The latest version of News allows you to put a teeser of any lenth in the block, and the full text of the spotlighted news (most recent, or manually selected)
Like the news here but you can customise till your hearts content.

Static text - Make a custom block (auto format), or edit the template for the specific block or module (weblogs block or index page) and add the text you want (in html format).
