I'd appreciate some critiques on Writers-Board.com. I changed it's theme and layout today based around XOOPS Factory's xf_blue_grey_V2 CSS theme.

I realize that there isn't much content right now. I'm holding off until the new Articles module is a little more stable. It looks very promising.

So............ with the understanding that it's still a work in progress, I'd appreciate the community's thoughts.

Hi, the site looks nice but my personal preferences are different. I think using another font style would improve, to make it look a bit nicer. I would place the advertisement block and the blocks underneath in the right column and the most important content in the center. The mini calendar is on the top of the left column, but there is hardly any function in that. Do you plan to use the calendar as an important feature of your site?

The links in the top row are directing me to some kind of google advertisment page .

Hi,

I very much like the simplicity of the theme but take a look at the layout in a Moz. browser - the widths of the second column aren't right.

the 2nd column where you got the google ads are making the block overlaping.

@ wtravel: I've collected a database of authors' birthdays, writing expos and other annual events. I'm going to use the calendar for that. Do you think the font would look better in a darker color or just another font? The links on top are part of my XOOPS banner rotation, so I think you clicked on a Google advertisement.

@ Alan-A & Limecity: Firefox won't work on my computer anymore. I think it's a Bill Gates Conspiracy I'll have to take a peek on someone else's computer.

Again, thanks for the input everyone. I'd rather hear about what's wrong than get a bunch of pats on the back.

design: too much grey bring in some colors! 6/10
layout: blocks are well placed : 8/10
adsense colors placements : 8/10
domain name: 7/10

Thanks for the input, billyvision. Definitely need more colors, but I gotta pick up a new monitor. All my colors turned to pastels for some reason Resized Image
