Ok, i found this site one time and I loved it! i was pretty excited to use it, but I don't have those programs. Is it possible i can get them here in America so i can use this program?

I must know because GSB is in need of a site. Are these programs free and do they cost?

Which programs?

The programs needed to use this program. I am an american, and I want to know if it is possible for me to make a website using this program. I also learned this is foriegn. Is it possible?

I once found a page saying that you needed such and such programs to use XOOPS.

Sorry for the bump!

Here is a good section of the Faq to start with. Also the Installation and beginners first steps would be good for reading.

If you are looking for a host they need to offer PHP and MySQL to run a XOOPS site. I hope this is what you are asking.

Just to clarify, XOOPS isn't really a program per se. It's a special package of PHP pages that use a MySQL database to store information. (Sort of like how HTML pages are used for basic websites.)

Like jdseymour said, you'll need a webspace provider that offers support for PHP pages and offers a MySQL database. You'll probably need an FTP program to upload XOOPS into your account.

You can download a zip file of the latest stable version of XOOPS available for your use. Hope this helped.

Ed_Elric, XOOPS is so simple to use, even americans can use it!!

You might have some difficulty with the language packs though as I don't think anybody has created any in american.

If you can understand the English packs you wont have any difficulties.
