I currently updating from 2.9.0.2 to .10 so i could update to 12 later on.. my question i noticed in the 0.2 to 10 patch that there's an install folder? what's that for? I never saw that in any previous patches, is there any need for it? do i have to use it? becos before all we had to do is replace the files

That is there if you want to patch full version files before a new install of XOOPS. You do not need it in your situation, just delete it.

Now, just replacing files does not complete the upgrade either. You will upload the files (minus the install folder, News, and Newbb if you use upgraded versions). Then you must update the system module to get it to work.

Also if you use a cloned/custom template set, you must generate a missing system template in them manually, system_dummy.html I believe it is.
