Script to revert database to previous copy

I'm thinking about making a module testing site, where people can come and test modules, on the user side and the admin side and once per hour the site would reset.

What I am looking for is a script that I can use with a cron job to drop the tables of the database and import the original .sql file that would be stored on the server.

Does anybody know of such a script, or be willing to put one together?

The latter restore script can be run from cron. If you try it let me know how it works.

Now that is a very good idea indeed.... You would have to disable the job during installation of any new modules of course... but otherwise, this would be an excellent idea.

It looks like a great site for testing modules. Is the script for restore working correctly?

While i have heard many people talking about setting up such a site for XOOPS no one has as of yet ... so good someone finally does

However some modules will need updating i think.
(e.g. WF-Links and WF-Channel)

Yep, it works perfectly, every hour the databse resets to the original

Excellent idea - may be worth adding some dummy data to the forum and a couple of the other modules.

Great work however!
