Best module to explore code

Can anyone give me directions around exploring the XOOPs code? Specifically, I want to create a new module, and I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a module I should look at first.

One easy module to start with is the mylinks module, but perhaps a better example would be news 1.3.

I pride myself that obs_classroom is a very clean module.

xHelp is also a very well written module.
