Greetings -

Is there an alternative to the default "Polls" module included in XOOPS?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Since "Better" is very subjective, please don't take this as being glib. It will greatly help if you identify missing features that would make it better for you. This will help us to identify if any of the polls specific hacks would be helpful to you, or if such features have yet to be added.

just some sugestions:

- only being able to see poll results after vote in it;
- only being able to see poll results after poll get closed;
- add some kind of "discuss in forum" to polls, with main XOOPS boards as options (newbb, ipboard, phpbb)

hope you understand what i mean! im brazilian, and my english is not so good...

I do not think you are being glib. My apologies, I used the wrong word. "Better" is not what I should have said. I should have said "alternative" in the title.

I am having dificulties with the "Polls" module. I have all the group permissions set for anonymous users and the anonymous users could not vote. Maybe I just misunderstood the module.

i guess you misunderstood the admin side of the module... Im using this module, and anonymous can vote without any problem.

and another sugestion:

- permissions defined for each poll, so some polls canbe set to allow anonym votes and other ones to allow only a specific group, and so on...

I think I got it working. Thank you for your response.

Additional Features In Admin

A way to reset the poll before it expires. That is to clear out all the vote data.

A way to look at who has voted with a chance to delete.

A way to hide the poll from the list of polls the user sees.

Additional features in admin.

Clone an old poll to create a new poll at a different date and time.

The above feature will be usefull if you want to re-run an old poll and compare the results to what you had previous. Things like opinion polls for example get run once a year.

Once the poll expires it not only emails the admin but it disappers from the poll block.
