Hello there.. I am new here.. And my questions are simple.. I am looking to move to XOOPS on several site but on this particular one, Sub Category forums and Images in posted messages are a must..

Is it possible within Xoops? Or is there a module I have missed that would enable this?

IN a nutshell if I am not clear enough, as posting this message there would be a place to upload an image to list with this message...

As for the forum, there would would be an area like. Lan Party forum, then under that would be the parties and other things.

yes I know you can have tons of categories.. but sub forums let you keep the front page simple...

In any case, can any of you help me and let me know if both or one of the other is currently available some where.,..

I am thinking of if this is not avalable to use the soon to be released XOOPS with phpBB installed so I can use these two areas as I use now...

In newbb2 I know for a fact that you can attach images with post, and will thumbnail those images also (with the proper services on the server).

As far as subforums, newbb2 can do them, not sure how they look visually as I have not had the need for a subforum as of yet. But in the admin section by each forum topic is a button to create a subforum.

I have figured out the Newbb with IMage Manager to upload images, not exactly user friendly for the typical paerson.. But it does work once you have it setup..

As for subs, I have yet to see how it can work in Newbb.. ?? I have tried a few things but nothing so far...

I am just wandering if there is a mod out there for this stuff that is so easy for the end user..

No, with newbb2 you can upload directly from within the forum.
No need to use the image manager.

The files upload to an attachments folder within the module directory that should be of course chmod 777.

Newwbb2 is a seperate upgrade than xoops. It is the latest forum module is 2.0.2 I think.
