I did a search for 'karma' but did not see a answer to this question.

How does one 'gain' karma in NewBB2? I understand how/where someone can make a post only visable by x amount of karma, but how do members get the kamra?

Any insight appreciated.

Yes I need some explaining for newbb too. The rpg users stats, how can this be used in a regular site? Maybe to show an expert in their professional field. Where can you admin the exp, levels, and points?

The rpg stats are explained on the preferances panel. Its just a way to measure how active the user is on the site on a RPG-ish context.

But I see no way to 'gain' karma...

I find it humorus no one knows how the karma system works and there does not seem to be any doc's on it. :p

Be nice if someone wrote something up on the new forum system..

I don't really see any great use for it even if there were an explainable way TO gain karma. I went ahead on my forums and changed the karma system into a privacy system. Users can mark their posts as private so that only themselves and admins can see the post. I use it in threads where users are bidding on something. They can mark their post as private so that others cannot see their bid.

Well I can see a social use for it, which is my reason I'd like to use it. But to use it one must understand how to gain it first.

And it seems quite apparent only the designers know how to use it and their not talking. *chuckle*
