I got a little bored with the default site closed template for XOOPS so I came up with a nice little replacement. This template adds a little style to your site closed page while offering you the ability to keep your site working for you while you’re customizing your XOOPS site behind the scenes.

Features:
• Cross Browser Compatible scrolling javascript marquee
• Customized User Login Box
• Placeholders for Google Adsense, Google Adsense Search, and a small square banner
• Site Closed Message (Preferences > General Settings) displays in the main body.

If you need a placeholder page until you install Xoops, there’s also a standalone version (Park it!) that also adds the following:

• Main content is statically coded
• In place of a XOOPS site logo, you can insert a custom logo or a banner ad
• A welcome message that displays your domain name
• A Cool Links area that replaces the XOOPS login box

Do you have a domain name that’s just sitting there going to waste? Offer it for sale! The Sell it! page adds the following functionality:

• Instead of a welcome message, there is a message indicating that your domain is for sale
• PayPal code is already in place; just update it with your account information and price.
• Both PayPal links automatically send your domain name to PayPal as the item to be purchased!

Thanks, Dave_L for the heads up on how to echo the server name.

Strange, I didn't know you couldn't edit your own post if it's the first post in a thread. Seems kinda silly.

At any rate. The url for the above downloads has changed. Here are the new URLs:

Sorry for the confusion. Of course, it wouldn't be an issue if I could have edited my first post.

it has nothing to do with being the first post in a thread. NewBB2 has a new setting "Time limit for edit(ing) a post" which is currently set at 60 minutes.

I seem to recall editing posts more than an hour later in different threads where my post wasn't the first. But that was a while back (after the site upgrade).

Can it be disabled? (not requesting, just seeing if it can be done)

Why implement such a limitation? Wouldn't that increase needless multiposting?

Just curious.

Thanks

Re: Site Closed Replacement & More

it certainly can be disabled (taken from newbb2 preferences page):

Time limit for edit[ing] a post
Set a Time limit for user editing their own post. In minutes, 0 for no limit

As far as its purpose - I don't have a need for it, but I presume it was a feature request.

Thanks for the clarification ackbarr. Hope I wasn't being too much of a pest. I was just curious.

Best Regards
