I browsed the discussion of dynamic menu at this site but none of them satisfy me. I can use stuffs like tigramenu but the authority control will be lost. I think it must be possible somehow by working on the javascript, dhtml and $block.modules (refer to main menu block template). Surprisingly it has not been done so far. Is there any difficulty I neglected?

Or actually someone has already done it, just not care to post? Please share, it will be very appreciated.

For you information, I have done it successfully. After the fine tune I'll post it as a module.

take a look athttp://varlinux.org I don't know if this is groups specific, but its a nice menu. I notice that there is a delay on loading the menu and that it uses onclick to open list not onhover.

Thanks for persuing this one. A good DHTML system would be real useful!

I would propose css menus...

much better, faster, cleaner, easier.


dhtml and java menus are always "external codes" and cause speed problems or make our lives difficult.

the only way to display 100% correctly a dhtml menu is using the theme html file.

otherwise it is tricky to find a good FREE dhtml menu and install in a block.
