The WF-Project Team is pleased to announce the release of WF-Sections v2.0.7 Beta.

WF-Sections is an advanced article management module for XOOPS 2.x.

It allows you to manage documents within userdefined sections and keep track of their history and modifications. An advanced permission system allows you to give different people different level of access to those documents. Documents can be created from several sources (Simple XOOPS Editor, Spaw Editor, HTML Import, Word Import).

Please Note: Due to the nature of this release a update script has not been included and WILL be included in a RC version (Soon).

Features:
1. allows multiple categories and sub-categories.
documents can be created using different editors or
2. imported from existing html or word documents.
3. option to attach files to a document.
4. created related links for articles.
5. extensive information can be kept with the documents like author, revision number, publishing date.
6. allows to restore older revisions of a document it activated.
7. detailed permission system to allow different groups to edit / delete / restore documents or to create / edit sections.

New to this version:

The biggest difference with this version to its previous versions is stability and speed.

Many parts of WF-Section have been re-written to correct many of the issues found in the previous release, given it a cleaner Interface and made the language defines clearer and easier to read..

We have also had time to add a few new features:
• Totally recoded the admin permission system to include all parts of the WF-Sections admin interface.
• New Image up loader: You can resize images while uploading or selected from the server.
• Images can be uploaded and save directly to the XOOPS Image manager and used by WF-Sections.
• New Random Document Block
• Most blocks have new features added, you can now display the summary and document image.
• New admin feature for spotlighting documents.
• Many more improvements and features.

8. several different blocktypes to promote articles or authors.
9. extensive use of templates which allows you to customize the module to your website easily.
10. voting and rating options for articles.

irmtfan:

There will be a update script very shortly =)

The update script should work with xf-sections if you have not renamed the database tables.

We do plan on releasing a update script for most of the section modules but we are waiting to see how well this beta version works out first

Hey mikhail,

Can you switch on php debugging and report any errors reported please.

Can you tell us where these blank pages are?
Do you have thumbs on and does your server support thumbs?
Which modules do you have installed? deactivate them one by one until the error goes away and tell us which module it is please.

Which blocks do you have enabled? Try turning them off until and let us know if the error goes and then report which block it is and to which module it belongs too.

Good work WF-Team Congrats on this module!

An idea: one of the things that we're trying to do is use more standards so exchange and compatibility will increase, so how about using the Dublin Core metadata model for the meta info stored with every article? We are using this for the XOOPS documentation as well, and it's an international accepted standard for document metadata.

Just an idea

Thanks XOOPS Core Team =)

WF-Sections v3 Is in the planning stage right now, this is where most of our newer ideas and enhancement of exisiting ones will probably end.

But yes, we shall look at this =)
