Hi,

I have just installed wf-sections for the first time and find that when I click on the menu link for wf-sections I get the following text within the area where wf-section should be

ÌÔc'nt!ÐÈZÉZ A\ !ðÈZ0ÉZ ‰c!ÉZPÉZ |»\90ÉZ¸ÊZ(TÆZt‚vt‚v´ƒv¬|vP?-@€ Z ÉZtableˆÉZ¸ÉZ WHERE ÉZÐÉZthis¢`¸ÉZèÉZpid=`ÐÉZÊZ=tionsèÉZÊZsel_idÊZ0ÊZ¡x< ZÊZHÊZorder0ÊZ`ÊZ¾˜uHÊZxÊZsql`ÊZ?ÊZ ȶ[xÊZ?ÌZORDER˜ÇZ¨ÍZ PÉZ˜ËZ ¼ÈZhÈZðÊZarr !ØÊZËZ (7ÿÿÿÿengt!ðÊZ0ËZ

When I click on a sub link of wf-section such as popular i get the following text

ewrwerwerwerwe

I have tried to register on wf-projects web site so that I can log this in the forum but there web site is not sending out emails to allow completetion of your membership.

The version i downloaded was version 2.01 and i got it yesterday.

I have even done a new install of XOOPS to a new directory and used a new database in case it was XOOPS that was corrupt, however I get the exact same problem.

Is anyone else getting the same problems or do you know of a solution?

Thanks
Simon

As of Sep 7 2004, WF-Section 2.01 is still in the development stage; meaning you shouldn't use it in a production environment unless you can fix some minor bugs. This has been pretty well documented on the WF-Projects website.

I would recommend that you continue to try to register on the WF-Projects website. If you can't get registered, e-mail the Admin and I'm sure they would be happy to assist you.

My best suggestion to you would be to use WF-Section 1.1 until the official/stable release of v2.x is available.

I am happy to use 1.1 for the moment. Any idea how I get hold of it. The download page for version 1.1 only contains language updates. There is no core download for version 1.1

Thanks
Simon

If you would have looked to the right of my last message, you would have seen the link: Released Files

In the interest of saving you some time, here's the direct download link.

Also, a correction. The current stable version is 1.01, not 1.1. My apologies.

first off JMorris thanks for the help here =) If you ever wish to become a mod over at WF-Projects we would be glad to have you.

As to the issue. I have never seen this with WF-Sections before and I am not exactly sure what the problem is or why you would get it.

At a rough guess I would say that your version of WF-Sections has/could be corrupt and try downloading it again. I would suggest you try the CVS version as that one is more stable than the released version.

Please keep us up to date with this.

Also, if you let us know what username you used we will activate your account.

OK, I hereby promise not to use WF-Sections in a production environment.

Now - does any one know what is causing this?
What are the "minor bugs" which need to be fixed?
Obviously this is a known problem.

Does everyone have to solve it on their own - 500 times.
Or can someone bless the unholy low-lifes like me with some discussion on what the problem is.

I posted this yesterday in the WF-Section web site forum.
At that time, I noticed there did not appear to be any responses to any posts for over a week.
Many older posts have no response ever.
And there is nothing there discussing this particular problem.
Which is why I and others are posting here.

If you don't want anyone to try this out mod . . .
Why have a v2.0.1 available for download?
Why have a CVS with anonymous access?

What are people supposed to do with it? Please advise.

Perhaps there is another hapless user-scum out there who has
(1) already solved or identified this problem, and
(2) is nice enough to share their discovey.
Which would help out everyone, including the developers of this module.
