Avtar gets deleted from default avtar list :(

hi,

I have a default set of avtars, loaded in for members usage. Now i am facing a wiered problem, everytime a member changes his avtar the old avtar gets deleted from the total avtar list. Thus if same avtar is used by multiple members, the others suffer with loss of avtar.

how to overcome this problem ????

After digging into the code, it looks like the user's old avatar is not removed if any of the conditions are met:

1. filename = 'blank.gif'
2. filname starts with 'savt'

If the replaced avatar is anything else it is removed automatically by the system. Did you add avatars to your site using a method other the System Avatar Manager?

hi the avatars in my site is also get deleted.

but the filename are savt001 ~savt200.

does the directory of avatar mater?

thx ackbarr,

well yes i wrote a script to add bulk avatars in one go.

can you tell me where is it written in the code that filesname s starting with "savt" should not be deleted.

I will modify it as per my avartar names

All my avartar names start from avatar_01 --100

hopefully this will work out

line 286 and 320 has that
shall i change it avtar ?? i think that would work out.. is there any other place where i need to change ???

that was the only place I've found it so far. I'll dig a bit further and see if there are any other instances

I'm not sure the reason for deleting avatars when you change, but I'd like to keep all avatars from being deleted. Is that doable?

no I think the code lines specified above were the only times the prefix was specified
