I've spent more than a day in solving a problem in
installation and afterwards running.

Install.php didn't work (error message: Could not create DB)
and manualy loaded appl (used phpMyAdmin for that) either.

The solution was to uninstall MS Proxy client which I use to go Internet.
Aftewards everything gone smooth and I'm enjoying XOOPS much.

other stuff:
PHP 4.2.1
MySQL 3.23.39-nt
IE 6.0

I have to add some lines to errors disapear(just for page 1)
$GLOBALS['db_select'] ="";

$GLOBALS['db_select'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbhost_text'] ="";
$GLOBALS['database'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbuname'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbpass'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbname'] ="";

$GLOBALS['dbpass_text'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbprefix_text'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbpconnect_text'] ="";
$GLOBALS['dbuname_text'] ="";
$GLOBALS['SCRIPT_NAME']="";
$GLOBALS['HTTP_HOST'] ="";

Now installation could start but still not making database.
I use win2000 adsrv(just trial version)+mysql+php

No database creating also. When manually made tables, Selected module does not exist! admin.php no right to access this.

Well try to search another portal/forum.

Did you have the correct NTFS permissions set for your XOOPS directories for the IUSR_MACHINENAME user account when trying to setup on IIS? Did you setup PHP in ISAPI or CGI mode? I know of dozens of XOOPS sites running on Windows 2003 and IIS 6.

yes i had all the permissions for the folder and for the files correct

and the XOOPS installation ckecked it before, and said that everything was correct

there was a permission bug in the win2k...i dont know if this is something related to it, but what i know is after migrating to the apache, almost everything worked...im saying almost because i'm having some problems with the mysql... i posted here about it too...

Re:Re: W2K +IIS +MS Proxy Standalone server Solution

I have/had a bigger problem in that I wanted to run XOOPS on a standalone Linux server on my lan behind a SBS 2003 server.

the only problem was I couldn't access the site from external of the lan (internal was fine).

Just a not for the records, port redirection wont work to an internal linux server.

The solution that I will be inmplementing but not yet installed is to download SBS 2003 SP1 which has ISA 2004, from here you can redirect to an internal server, just thought some other people might find this useful and save them time.

Cheers,
Dean

Sure you can. I don't know what you're using to redirect but I never had trouble with firewalls and SOHO routers and even pcs.
no max no bling. goes double for mik. triple for the insane aliases of said lunatics
