First time poster here and I want to say that I think that this is an amazing group and XOOPS is really great. As one with a little bit of sysadmin experience, a bunch of network/telecom gear experience but absolutely *no* php, mysql, html, programming experience I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get XOOPS running on the $1.99 per month shared hosting service that I use.

Here is my question:
1. Is there a way to set up all groups to default to a particular block layout and then make changes accordingly or does the block layout need to be adjusted for each group separately?

I am not sure, but I believe that whatever you do to the anonymous users group is reflected on other groups.
