Hi

We have a huge list of downloads and categories on our internal Intranet. I've sussed out how to get the page to display everything by increasing a code value in the main page (it defaults at if > 5 and I increased it to say if > 100).

The trouble is that I prefer the layout of the download module used by the e-xoops module (its the only thing I don't like about XOOPS by the way!!). It displays the data in a more listed tabular mannor rather than bunches of little text lines.

Is there a way of changing the XOOPS default downloads module to change how the catergories are displayed to the users? If not, is there a module that does that I can use with Xoops?

Thanks

One small problem (well a major one really).

The first screen of catergories looks brilliant - nicely nested. But when I click on one the following problems occur :

a) The previous default XOOPS download module layout is applied so I get chunks of text again which is what I wanted to avoid

b) At the top of the screen above the logo I get a series of '1's. Sometime two or three, other five or six 1's.

c) It changes all of the text on the whole page to a larger version of the original and it throws all the tabs out of line.

Anyone know how to get round this problem? Could uninstalling the old Downloads module help (I'd rather not until I know which one Im sticking with because the original one has got lots of data in it)?

Thanks

uninstalling the old, shouldn't make any difference..

these bugs u mentioned have been addressed and fixed for the new release of wfdownloads, due out shortly :)

the layouts are all editable via the templates.html files :) how i done mine is to create new classes in style.css and then change the class names in the templates files for the module.. but thats cos i'm arranging most of mine so each module has it's own class..

Any idea how long 'shortly' is? I need this download module to work like, yesterday. If it isn't gonna do the job I need it to, as much as I appreciate the developers hard work, I need results quick (thus the reason I'm using a CMS in the first place). It takes me too long to suss out how to go about changing themes. For starters, if the first page looks fine that lists the base catergories, why does the clickable page go all wonky?

Does anyone know of any other download modules that work as desired - i.e. nested 'Windows Explorer like' tree listings?

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Yours works exactly right. That's how I want mine to look.

Your first page is just the same as mine, but if you were using my site, you would click on, say, your Security\Antivirus link, but instead of it nicely listing your 3 catergories from top to bottom on the left hand side of the page, and everything else on the page staying the same, mine reverts back to using the default XOOPS download module. i.e. it displays the sub catergories just the same. What makes it worse is that all the fonts double in size, and all these weird figures appear at the top of the screen.

Did you just install it and run it initially, and then you chose to make the changes you refer to, or did you also have the same problem? If you did, how did you correct it? In other words, which bits of the theme files did you change?

Thanks

This is just wild guessing but how about cleaning out templates cache directory and updating the module in administration after that.

Tried with a different theme?

For a while there, I got all exited because I'm at home now and run my own site with XOOPS which does use a different theme (the one at work is just the default XOOPS theme at the moment).

However, the exact same thing happens to my own site which is externally hosted and everything. So I rekon I've just got a dodgy version of the module that is either kanckered or doesn't work with 2.0.6 of Xoops. I'll see if I can get a different one.

Cheers guys
