i installed XOOPS 2.06 originally without any port number in my ip address, so that it used port 80 as default

well now i find out my router uses port 80 for the firmware, so my website cant be viewed on port 80

so i change my apache2 settigns to port 99, but how can i change my XOOPS settings for the site to load at port 99, and not 80?
i looked in general settings and there is no port box

Xoops will be available on whatever port your webserver makes available. IF you want the world to use a different port then 80 for http, then you need to change the DNS entry.

In my oppinion it's smarter to change the port for the router firmware, instead of changing your webserver config.
(I've never seen a router where the firmware port can't be changed!)

I agree with this also, but anyway if you want to change your port, you have to manually modify the XOOPS_URL value in /mainfile.php, and add your port number to it (so http://www.dom.com becomes http://www.dom.com:99).

You shouldn't have the router firmware page available on the WAN side of the router, dangerous. Typically it is only run from the LAN side. External browsers hitting your router are bounced to the webserver no problem.
