advice 1: Don't use caps unless you want to emphasize something

advice 2: Do a forum search on blank screen and install and you should find something to go a bit further.

Jeff Kim, check to make sure that you have the correct username and password in your mainfile.php file. Sometimes it's just something like this that will give you a blank page. You could even have your XOOPS physical path or virtual path wrong in your mainfile.php.

Another thing could be that you didn't set your permissions right on certain folders. You are supposed to make the cache, templates_c and uploads folders 777 (chmod) and the mainfile.php (666 or 777) when you install. Then you change your mainfile.php file back to 444 or 644 after you install.

Does XOOPS find that path itself? The path that was in the installscreen seemed oke to me.

/home/stefijn/public_html

Also, adminusername and pw are in the file. However, my screen is also totally blank.

Didn't have any problems in the installprocedure

I have the exact same problem, install goes fine, everything is good, but i just get a blank screen!

I've tried what you said, except i don't know what those numbers mean. If i rightclick on a file and select chmod, i can only change the read, write and executable options, nothing else.

Ok, i fixed it, it did have something to do with the chmod thingie. I found the answer at

for ur quick reference..

chmod codes are

read = 4, write = 2, execute = 1

there are 3 digits the 1st is the owner permission, 2nd is group permission, 3rd is other permission..

so if u want to give all groups read permission then u would chmod 444

write permission 222

execute 111

read and write would be 666

read, write and execute would be 777

write & execute only would be 333

read and execute would be 555

to just allow a certain group ie give owner and group permission and other non then it would be 770

or to just read and execute etc would be 550

just add the numbers up and you'll see the picture..

i know my explanation is poor..
