FIXED

PROBLEM SOLVED

Was code error in RC

Details:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=15997&forum=21

Problem was:

Forum module is installed
I can create categories
I can create and read forums
I can create and read Topics
I can post messages

BUT I can NOT read messages.
Page goes to -
http://<mydomain.com>/modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=1
but comes up BLANK every time.

I have tried uninstalling categories/forums & then reinstalling the forum mod. SAME blank page when it should show the post.

I hope there is an easy answer (fix) for this.
Thanks!

Can you try unistalling the forum module and then reinstalling it?

hmmm... try turning on your php debugging and see what errors you get. Maybe someone could help you with some more details.

Try repairing your newbb tables from phpmyadmin.

This XOOPS Forum Thread Link might provide clues and the answer.

Re: Forum Help Please

Hamic, you say you can post messages but the forum comes up blank. Where are you posting the messages from if you get a blank page when you go to the forum page?

I suggest going into the forum admin and looking at the settings you made for your forum(s) and see if you made the forum access for everyone or just one certain group. Plus check your groups admin and make sure you set the forums access for all the webmasters and any other group that you want to be able to see the forums. It has to be the module access block for the forums that is checked for the groups, in order for a group to view the forums.

But that is just for no permission pages that come up. If you have a blank page coming up, then that means you could have some of your newbb files corrupted. You could try comparing the size of all the files in your newbb module folder with the files on your home computer to see if they are the same size.

I thank you all for your time but still no workable answers. I"M GOING CRAZY!

Example of what is happening if you have 5 minute to look...

Go to -

www.hamic.biz

Login with:

Username: testusr
password: testusr

Click on "Forum"

Click on Forum "News"

Click on "Test Again"

...goes to BLANK page @

http://www.hamic.biz/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1&forum=1

* testusr is a registered member and permissions seem to be set properly.

* Have uninstalled and reinstalled forum module
* Have uninstalled and reinstalled category and forum

REPEAT of problem:

Forum module is installed
I can create categories
I can create and read forums
I can create and read Topics
I can post messages

BUT I can NOT read messages.
Page goes to -
http://<mydomain.com>/modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=1
but comes up BLANK every time.

Hoping still for an answer....been fighting for days!

Thanks
Brian
