How can I make the News float to the top

I installed the random quote module for the front page of my site,which is currently set to be news. I would like the quote to box to go to the bottom of the center column. I assigned a weight of 1 to the quote block, but it won't sink below the news. What am I missing?

What I had to do was edit the template to make the l/c/r blocks appear below the content. Edit the template in your favorite html editor.
