www.RecupSoft.com is actually running from the host provider www.MtHoodHosting.com
and

I use three different hosts and run XOOPS on all three.

Hostonic.com: Runs my Image Host and Forum site

Yrhost.com: Runs North Carolina Underground

I know you asked for something not free, but I use www.1and1.com as my host, and they are free. The only thing I had to pay for the the domain name. I love these guys. Its worth giving them a try.

that 1and1.com offer actually sounds almost too good to be true If I hadn't already a nice free host (because someone else pays the bill ) I'd go for it.

1and1.com - not enough bandwidth for me! I use close to 10gb a month. Do they only have one plan and it's only free for three years?

I'm considering using 1and1 for my new horror site I'm going to do with xoops. I didn't think ftp was available though on the free 3 year plan.

I know two people who are using it and they like it so far, but they say that the builder program that they have sucks.

I've done research in the past on free webhost providers that are compatible to using xoops.

Here are some of them that I found:

http://www.totalfreehost.com/

http://snake-inc.com/services/host/free.shtml

http://www.illusionfxnet.com/

http://www.hostultra.com/freehosting.html - This one offers unlimited disk space and unlimited data transfer but you have to pay $5 US dollars (one time set up fee) for each MySQL database you want. Everything else is free.
