I keep getting merging text on the forums. It happens through all themes I use [see right].

I recently had to reintstall XOOPS after my databases were lost in a server crash and now this anomaly has popped in a place where before it was fine. Any ideas?

Not encountered this one before. The first thing I'd suggest is ensuring that your are using the default templates for the forums, and that they haven't been altered in any way.

I am using the default templates, I resintealled Xoops!

Try reinstalling the newbb module. If the forums are the only place you have the merging text, then the problem is in your newbb module. The merging text is only on the forums main page?

I tried doing that already, all I managed to do is lose all my current posts and the merge was still there.

The merge is no on the forum selection page, just where you read the posts, it has overlapped and the rest of it is 'behind' the post. It doens't matter which theme or database either. I don't know PHP or SQL so i have no clue as to why.

Click on your forum icon in the system admin and you will see:

Sync forum/topic index - This link will allow you to sync up the forum and topic indexes to fix any discrepancies that might arise

This will update all your posts and show them correctly.

It could be a template file that needs to be checked. Maybe this one newbb_viewtopic_flat.html and/or this one newbb_viewtopic_threaded.html. These files are in your templates manager and to see them click on the Forum list link. Check to see if there is anything in the file(s) that looks messed up.

What would a messed up file look like?
Considering its been ages now, I have reinstalled Xoops, reinstalled newbb, changed theme and the merging problem still occurs. I even changed bloody host and the same thing appears.
