installed module, but cannot upload because a thumbnail cannot be created.

and,
i have lost permissions (in rootweb) to albums created in subdirectory. ie: i created an album under my username and in subdir "userpics" a directory was created "10000" i do not have permissions for this directory. any ideas

Requirements:
- working XOOPS 2.0.x installation (with php/mysql)
- For image resizing you can use GD(without gif support), ImageMagik or Netpbm(still experimental)

Do you have GD installed or ImageMagik? This is needed to create Thumbs

Did you have the Safe-mode ON ? If so, it could come to problems...

Netpbm is still experimental and will be testet on the demosite so the next release will come with full netpbm support.

Due to the permissons the only important point is to have the folder userpics rewriteable.

can you explain, as i do not understand, why i lost ownership (in my root web) of the direcory created when i added an album under my user name:

drwxrwxrwx tjnemez 1 kb 09-Nov-2003 19:43 userpics [Delete] [Rename]

drwxr-xr-x www 1 kb 09-Nov-2003 20:22 10001

as you can see the sub dir "10001" is owned by "www" and i cannot delete or rename it.

The gallery creates a directory for every user, who has uploaded pics. The directory named everytime 10000 + the user id, so you don't need to add a folder under your username.

The directory owning issue is a server configuration problem. If php runs on your server as an apache modul and under a user "nobody", "www"... then the created directories and files are owned by this user and you can delete them only within a php script. There is no way to change this.

i used coppermine as a stand alone gallery before and never had this issue. also i had to chmod albums and user pics to 777 before it would create sub directory "10001" for me.

i do not like losing ownership so i will not likely offer my users their own gallery.

i really like coppermine, and appreciate your efforts in creating the mod. i look forward to using it when netpbm issue is resolved.

thank you

I have changed nothing on the file handling of coppermine. I can't reproduce this ownership problems, so i can't help you with it. Have you used coppermine on the same server, because this is a server issue...please, read more about this issue in the coppermine faqhttp://coppermine.sourceforge.net/faq.php?q=cantDeletePic#cantDeletePic

Netpbm: Have you entered you path correctly in the config. You should use / on *nix systems and \ on windows.
Exampal:
on windows use c:\programs\netpbm\
on *nix use /usr/bin/

Don't forget the ending slash.

Hi, I installed xcGallery uploaded some photo's but ran into trouble for the first time when I tried to run the xcgallery Group manager. when I hit the submit button it tries to start the php program from my root directory. It is the same when you try to move forward or back in the album. It allways looks in my root directory and not in the root/modules/xcgal/ ?
What did the program or I wrong?
