"Zentrack needs register global on!"

OOOH, Owch!
That's a server setting, which means the host will need to change it, BUT....
Turning it on can be risky and most (good) host will not turn it on as it can lead to some very unsafe code being run on the system.
You may want to (if possible) contact the author and see if they can re-write it to work with register globals off.

I am having the same problem running XOOPS 2.0.7, MySQL and IIS6. How is this done on Windows Server 2003 (and probably any common Windows OS). Is it a setting in the php.ini file or an actual server config option?

Yes this setting resides in the php.ini file. Once changed you would need to restart your web serve software to have the change take affect, at least I do.

I have changed the setting to on, saved the ini file, and restarted the web-publishing service in the Services list. Restarted IE and loggon on to my site, but I still get the same problem.

Is there something else I need to restart? I'd rather not re-boot the server if I can avoid it!

Sorted it - I had changed the php.ini file in c:\Windows but not in c:\php. When I copied it accross it worked. Thanks
