Here are some additional ideas:

1) Can folks be automatically moved from "paying" group to "free" group upon notification from PayPal?

2) Also, pseudocron checking of accounts that have not selected auto-renew. Perhaps at a specific time each day, it checks the database for accounts that have X days prior to the renewal date (set by admin) and sends out a message asking them to renew if they would like to continue service with a link to the appropriate page.

3) Same as 2 but a message going out to the auto-renew folks that they have been renewed. Like a receipt.

Thanks again!

Dan

How are we doing on the Paypal module.
I thought somebody was going to do something.

You know Donation link, automaticly move user to "Paid User" group and make a page where users can see who has donated listed by highest donation.

Take a look at superfreak studios ?s BUILDING A CONTENT SUBSCRIPTION SYSTEM USING THE PAYPAL IPN

It seems to be a good article with a link to dowload a zip file with asp code ( maybe a programmer could do an adaption to php ) and a ms access db, wich acording to the author coul be a mySql db too.

Take the zip at:

http://www.superfreaker.com/paypal/ucontent/superfreaker_ucontent.zip

What do you think?

A very much doubt you will find a developer to work on ASP codings.

There are php scripts out there that do a simlar job

Theres a script you can buy and they say it can be intergrated into xoops, one problem though it would cost you again and again should you upgrade XOOPS and then it not be compatible.

http://www.cgi-central.net/scripts/amember/

I know thats the following once did a php script that is in php and could be intergrated, although there site is there the link to the DL seems to have disapeard, but you could always contact them and ask:

http://www.gacybertech.com

There must be more out there too.

I've started development on this module but don't expect a beta release until the end of Feb as I have other commitments chewing up my time right now.
