i can see the article is fetched from smartsection..

what other module is supported ? it will be nice if plugin for all popular module eg news,ams,article,content,wordpress etc be included in the download package

a great start for 2009 ..

At the moment I just have plugin for smartsection, news and xoopstube. The plugins should be done by the module developer because they have to respect access permissions to the items and because it is easier for me, lol.

I think it is a matter of time until we have a good set of plugins and templates/css for the block.

ok..

i have a question...is it possible to use different plugin at the same time in the block as example combine smartsection & news module

That is not possible under the current block settings.
Each time you select a plugin the block is restarted to fetch correct categories. If I allowed multiple plugins then I needed to have multiple categories select boxes. Options in blocks are limited to the ones you set in xoops_version so, I don´t see a good way to do that.

However, maybe I could make possible to create custom plugins that are not module related. This way you could build a plugin to fetch results from more than one module.

Well it´s not easy. Good thing is that, you can use how many spotlight blocks you want. And you can use the spotlight block inside a Mytabs page.

There are other good things I added like, you can fetch category or user via url. So for example, if you use a spotlight in a profile page you can get items from that user only. Very cool!

great..take your time trabis...all the features will be nice addition

btw how do you actually fetch the picture in the spotlight block ? do we need to upload the picture for the block or is the picture fetched from the article itself ? one last question...is it easy to change the style of the spotlight block ?

Pictures for the article are provided by the plugin. If the plugin fails to provide an image(ex:news module does not have image per article) then mytabs will search in the article for image tags (added with the image manager) and use them. If no image is found mytabs will use a blank image.

I may add the option to fetch category image instead of article image, but it is not done yet.

Styles(css) can be selected in the block. You can create new sytles and paste them in a specific folder created for the effect.

Yesterday I worked on the effects. At the moment you can choose around +10 effects. You can select effects for tab in, tab out, and set corresponding effects time.
Examples:
tab1 seems to push tab2 out of the slide
tab1 slides over tab2
tab1 fades in while tab2 fades out

You can now test Mytabs 2.2 alpha.
It´s alpha so it is not finished.
Do not update your mytabs module.
Please do a fresh install.

Please report back any bugs or make feature requests.
