In the php.ini, which you open from the WAMP GUI, you should have something like:

Quote:
; Directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside.
;http://php.net/extension-dir
; extension_dir = "./"
; On windows:
; extension_dir = "ext"
extension_dir = "s:/wamp64/bin/php/php5.5.11/ext/"

Make sure that this folder is set there correctly to whatever your directory is.

Sorry, but something has to be wrong with your configuration. I never got this kind of error, unless it was my mistake (like couple of times I forgot to update the php.ini)

Hummm,
Someone could download wamp, composer and try to install composer, in a new installation, and tell me if all is ok ?

Re: XOOPS 2.6 : trouble installation and pre-required ?

I went through a fresh install of WampServer 2.4 (32 bit on a Win 7 box.) After enabling the openssl extension in php.ini, Composer installed without a hitch.

If I understand your issue correctly, composer can't find the php executable.

If you bring up a command line and enter 'path' as the command, you should see a list of directories, separated with a ';', where windows will look for commands. There should be a section that looks something like this:

c:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.16\;

Make sure that points to the directory that contains php.exe.

Also in that directory (for wamp systems) should be php.ini and phpForApache.ini, make sure that the openssl lines in both are uncommented. My experience suggests that the GUI only sets the 'ForApache' version, so I just use a text editor on both.

If you installed composer using the johnstevenson/composer-setup as suggested by Mamba, it should have captured the path to php.exe as it was installed. If that was wrong, or you changed your system after that, it could be pointing to the wrong place. Go to control panel - programs and right click on composer and choose change. Follow the prompts to reinstall it, and make sure that the path to php.exe points to the right place, for example, c:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.16\php.exe

No, composer found my php.exe file but show me, (just after) :
Quote:
Some settings on your machine make Composer unable to work properly.
Make sure that you fix the issues listed below and run this script again:

The openssl extension is missing, which means that secure HTTPS transfers are impossible.
If possible you should enable it or recompile php with --with-openssl

ok for php.ini, i will check phpForApache.ini...

Re: XOOPS 2.6 : trouble installation and pre-required ?

You have to turn it on in the apache file and it will work for you there after. I had to do the same thing.

I would uninstall the composer program... Find the OpenSSL line in the apache file, uncomment it. Restart your Apache server and then reinstall Composer.

Should install without issue after this. You COULD forget about this and once you get the OpenSSL working it SHOULD work but I did this because I wanted to insure I didn't get any errors when I was installing composer.

I am using WAMP on an Win 8.1 Pro 64bit machine. I do have to restart WAMP every time I reboot. Didn't see an option to start it automatically yet.

OMG, with your idea, Richard i found the BUG !!!

- With WAMP, i enabled PHP / PHP extensions / php_openssl
- With WAMP, i edited php.ini : "extension=php_openssl.dll"

All seems ok but i got the error...

IN the files manager, i found :

a - php.ini in d:\wamp\bin\php
b - php.ini in d:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache2.4.4
c - phpForApache.ini in d:\wamp\bin\php

in "b", the file is correct;
in "a" and "c", the line "extension=php_openssl.dll" was commented...

I modified "a" and "c" then reinstall composer, now it"s ok !

Strange.

I made a test :
By Wamp, i enabled "php_pdo_pgsql"
Now, in "b" the line is decommented,

but not in "a" and "c"...

Composer seems read the "a" or "c" files, but not the php.ini using by wamp !

It's bug, no ?

Ok NOWWWWW
i can continue to install XOOPS 2.6
