Hello,
The short answer is there is only one content module in XOOPS 2.6. This module is "page". The other modules are only here for testing.
I think it is necessary to remove these modules from svn.
I agree that the News module is obsolete and should be completely recode. I will look later to rewrite the News module while keeping the same tables for compatibility.

I'm okey with it.
I've asked Mamba to commit the news module and others but I realize it was a mistake. I need to stop being lazy. We can work on other modules using the 2.6 modules trunk.

Being "lazy" is good!

The best programmers are the "lazy" programmers!

I'll move News out of the XOOPS 2.6.0 trunk, but I would suggest to keep Publisher there, as per previous discussions within the community here, Publisher should be our "Advanced" Content module, so let's make sure that it works flawlessly and it takes advantage of all the new features of XOOPS 2.6.0. And the more people test it, the better for us. Just my humble opinion

Yes. I agree. Publisher is a good stable module.
Never tried News w/o error issues.

The more I know, the more I know that I really didn't wanna know.

Thank you Mage and Mamba.
I was confused when i saw some modules like news module in XoopsCore/branches/2.6.x/2.6.0/htdocs/modules

XoopsModules26 is the right place for 2.6 compatible modules.

+1
you have my vote on this too. We need an advance content module too. Just I need a script to port my old news module contents.
