I was about to start a new topic. Then i found this thread and this is exactly what i was looking for.

Any idea if this has been done ? ?
or is there any other way i can achieve this way of representing news in main page ? ?

Someone Help me with this thing. I want to do the same thing as Xoops.org does.
I have 4 News topic
[Software News], [Hardware News], [Games] & [Technology].
And i want to show 5 latest news from each topic in the main page. I looked in the forum in detail and got many threads but i am unable to do it.
If i am to edit any template file, than wich file and what exactly to edit??

Someone Please Help me. I want to finish main work before geting back to my studies and i just have few days left.

I m running News 1.3.11 and XOOPS 2.0.13

(Should i start a new thread ??)

it has been ages for a solution..

the code is there ... xoops.org does not release it (unless is hardcoded)..

A feature like that, having a fully customizable spotlight in order to show news in your first page (either in columns or stacked) is not there .. and everybody wants it..

a feature that will BOOST XOOPS enormously... if I was a developer that would be on of my TOP priorities..

even if the news block in xoops.org is hardcoded... just make it available... many people can hardcode ..

does it work with any news module?

I have 1.44...

At one point I managed to see a list of stacked news with a small summary and underneath 4 image boxes with no image in them.. and no links or text next to them..

any ideas?
