Re: Lost my Control Panel Xoops 2.0.9.3

See This Web Page About 500 internal server errors. You may need to check your logs, or your host may need to check the webserver logs themselves to find the problem. This sounds like a server configuration problem, not necessarily a XOOPS problem to me.

Well I was able to get the site from a situation of no modules appearing, to all of them by removing the cache/admin...php and loggin in for the first time.

Ialso upgraded the files to V2.10

The problem is just with the system module not working.

I've tried uploading new files, etc...nothing cn make it work.

My server admin says nothing was changed.

If that is the case, then it is a system problem with xoops.

There is a over 300 members on the site, so I am afraid of it crashing or simply having to have eeveryone resign up

That is version 2.0.10 that you upgraded to? 2.10 is beta.

You say you upgraded? Have you checked my XOOPS System Upgrade Tutorial to see if any steps were missed.

I hope we can locate this problem for you. Entries in that Faq also about missing system icon.

Try this method:Missing system icon in admin!

HTH.

Hi.

I really appreciate this JDSeymour. I havn't slept yet because of this issue.

Sorry, I upgraded from 2.0.93 to 2.0.10.

I used that tutorial.

I will read through it once again and step by step things.

I don't think that is the problem though.

The problem started all of a sudden for no cause.

It was only by trying all of these methods that i have been able to get the modules to appear, but still have not been able to get the system or a cafepress module to work yet.

Hi.

Wel Ive done a step by step and it seems that I did everything correctly.

modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups does not work.. It did at one time way back. But then at that time, the modules all of the modules were ot appearing.

Everything works fine, but the system module and the cafe press modules are crapped out and send me to an error 500.

I have backups made from the module my backup.

Is it possible that I can just install an older backup in the SQl and revert things?

Is it possible the problem is in the db, and not in the other files?

How do i install the zipped backup into the db?

I use cpanel and phphmyadmin.

thank you

Re: Lost my Control Panel Xoops 2.0.9.3

Before you mess with the database, take the 2.0.10 archive that you downloaded to your computer, open the archive, go to the modules directory and re upload the system module folder to the server. Then update the system module, plus regenerate any cloned/custom templates you may have.

See if that fixes it first (perhaps a file corruption during upload).

You can use phpmyadmin for import. Just open your database in phpmyadmin, click on the SQL tab at the top, and browse for your file.

HTH.

Darn. I uploaded the old backup.

So, in the end, istead of getting an error 500, now i rcvd this for the system module:

http://jewishmayhem.com/magazine/modules/articles/admin/articles.php 65.92.173.166 /magazine/modules/system/admin.php jewishmayhem.com Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 500

and this for the cafepress module

http://jewishmayhem.com/magazine/modules/cafepress/admin/index.php 65.92.173.166 /magazine/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=showmod&mod=12 jewishmayhem.com Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 500

Does this help?

Where are you seeing those messages? Looks like your web browser information.

Is your server a Linux or Windows server?

And the System Module says /articles?

Linux server.

Dude. If you don't know, then I know even less.

I am winging things here big time.

This is bizarre, b/c I iploaded an older sitewide backup, and now the newbb forums work, sorta. They do not connect though.

ERROR: Could not connect to the forums database.
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

This is crazy!!!

System module, and backup still dont work, but the cafepress one now does!

Is there a simple solution to all of this?

Like uninstalling XOOPS via control pael and reinstalling it with the backup databases and modules?

Re: Lost my Control Panel Xoops 2.0.9.3

Did you happen to update your forums since the backup?
If you did upload the current version to the server.

Check your database in PHPmyadmin and see if all looks OK.

In the database go to the bottom of the main list, select all tables, and choose repair from the dropdown menu.
