I am VERY new at XOOPS and of course I'm lost in a couple things. I created a news article and it doesn't show on the main page or when I click "News" on the main menu. Can somebody help me out?

More info: I submitted it again (this time not in the Administer's Panel) and I get a "Notification". When I click the notification I get:
Sorry, the selected story does not exist.
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

No, not your XOOPS version but the version on the news module.
From your admin panel, click on the "Admin System" then select the option "Modules". On the new page you will be able to see the module's version. It must be 1.1 or 1.2

I have a similar problem.

I enter new news articles with a future publish date. It makes sense that the article doesn't show up until that date, but unfortunately any user who has subscribed to notifications receives a notification for an article that has not yet been published.

Is there any way to suppress notifications about new news articles until the system date/time is later than the date of publication?
